Chapter one: Waterdavian Landowners
A casual night of drinking in The Yawning Portal with my new acquaintances was interrupted by an intruder from the Undermountain. Namely, a troll decided he would do some adventuring of his own, only by travelling upawrds in his case. Fortunately, with the help of Durnan the barkeep, we made short work of the beast. Norak even managed sever it's head in his drunken frenzy. The monster-slaying spectacle put on by Durnan and my new friends attracted the attention of none other than Volo Geddarm. After a drink and a short exchange he put us to work in finding his missing friend Floon with the promise of a substantial reward.
In the following days we would spend our time drinking, fighting, intimidating Dock Ward thugs, attracting attention from the City Watch, raiding a Zhentarim hideout in the Dock Ward, and ultimately exploring the Splendors of the Waterdavian sewage system.
In the Zhentarim hideout we rescued Ranear Neverember, the son of the former Open Lord, and another friend of Volo Geddarm apparently. Rescuing Floon proved to be a more difficult task however, as his likeness was mistaken for that of young Renaer. After a fierce fight in the Xanatharian hideout somewhere in the Waterdavian sewers we managed to rescue the unwitting Floon and return him to Volo.
As a reward for rescuing his drunken friend, Volo transferred ownership of a large manor in the North Ward to my new adventuring friends and myself. Thus we found ourselves newly minted Waterdavian landowners. The ramshack ruin we took over would occupy much of our time and efforts in the following days as well as an ever increasing toll on our fortuitously ever-expanding purse. A large portion of our coin, hard earned from endeavors including looting, theft, gem-trading, trading of stolen paintings and lucrative gambling exploits went into the restoration and staffing of our beloved manor. After dealing with a dozen guilds regarding every minute aspect of supplying, mainting and running a business in this byzantine city, the inn is not yet ready to prepare and serve food, nor are it's lodgings anything to advertise in the local paper, however, it is ready to serve drinks to any willing members of the Beer Sipper's Guild.
